Why Ring Size Matters
A ring that's too tight is uncomfortable to wear and difficult to remove. One that's too loose risks slipping off and getting lost. Getting the size right the first time means your piece is ready to wear the moment it arrives.
Method 1: The String or Paper Strip Method
This is the easiest method and requires nothing more than a strip of paper or thin string, a pen, and a ruler.
- Cut a thin strip of paper (about 1 cm wide) or use a piece of string.
- Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger you want to size — not too tight, not too loose.
- Mark where the paper or string overlaps with a pen.
- Lay it flat and measure the length in millimeters.
- This measurement is your finger circumference. Use the chart below to find your ring size.
Tip: Measure at the end of the day when fingers are slightly larger due to warmth and activity.
Method 2: Measure an Existing Ring
If you already have a ring that fits the right finger perfectly, this method is quick and accurate.
- Place the ring on a flat surface.
- Measure the inside diameter (straight across the inside of the band) in millimeters.
- Match that measurement to the chart below.

Pro Tips for Getting It Right
- Knuckle size matters: If your knuckle is wider than the base of your finger, size up and opt for a slightly larger ring that can pass over the knuckle comfortably.
- Temperature affects size: Fingers are smaller in the cold and larger in the heat — measure at room temperature.
- Dominant hand: The fingers on your dominant hand are typically slightly larger. Keep that in mind if you're sizing for a specific hand.
- Wide bands fit tighter: If you're choosing a wide band (6mm+), consider going half a size up for comfort.
